Mine Cable Services Coupler Connection Systems
For nearly 30 years, Mine Cable Services (MCS) has manufactured its line of medium voltage electrical cable couplers used in mining applications such as draglines, shovels, drills and pumps, as well as to connect tunnel boring machines, container port and forestry crane operations.
Electrical Cable Couplers developed and manufactured by Mine Cable Services range from 600V up to 25kV, with ratings of 250A, 400A, 600A, and 800A. MCS cable couplers are simple to install, robust in service, with various available for mating to other couplers of common North American manufactured design. Mine Cable Services offers all of the necessary tools, materials, and training for successful installation by your technical teams, while offering Coupler Installation Services in one of our two cable repair facilities in western Canada.
Standard MCS brand cable coupler features include:
- Rugged, lightweight, non-conductive aluminum cast components
- Self-centering, entrance fitting strain relief assemblies preventing water ingress. Available for cable diameters up to 4.125"
- Variety of phase connection systems available including compression, mechanical (set screw) or solder
- Silver plated Live End components standard on all 8kV shielded, 15kV, and 25kV coupler assemblies
- All stainless steel, corrosion-resistant hardware on all voltages of couplers
- All couplers meet IP67H rating for water ingress prevention
- LED Voltage Indicator System available for all voltages 5kV up to 25kV for added safety of technical personnel
- Custom configurations available by request
- Optional powder-coated body components available
