To support operations who have selected Exothermic Welding as their preferred method of conductor connection, Mine Cable Services offers a custom designed series of carbon molds and weld charges sized specifically for flexible stranded copper conductors, as found primarily in SHD-GC mining cables. A user friendly alternative to silver soldering, Exothermic Weld connections create a solid and strong conductor connection during the cable repair process, and is especially valuable when repairing larger sized conductors. The MCS Exothermic Welding process features remotely activated electronic ignition weld charges, creating a safe working distance for cable repair personnel while triggering the exothermic weld charge.
Mine Cable Services offers Exothermic Molds, Welding Charges, and Tool Kits in complete kits sized to your specific cable, or as individual replacement components. On site training is available to support customers who have purchased MCS Exothermic molds, materials, and supplies to ensure successful and safe cable repair operations.

- Each Exothermic Mold Starter kit includes phase, ground, and ground check molds and handles sized specifically for flexible stranded copper conductors. Customer specific kits and individual molds are available to best suit the cables in use at your operation.
- Exothermic weld charges are available for individual sale or in convenient prepackaged kits designed to complete approximately 20 splices.
